First impressions are good—it feels solid and well made. The case keeps everything neat and tidy, and the cutter itself is a bit more compact than MAP's. However, with everything in the case, it’s not the lightest to carry, so I’ll likely stick to cutting meat at home.

The standout feature is the blade design, which only allows them to fit one way, removing the guesswork about orientation and the sharpest edge. Hopefully, this will solve the old problem of having to turn the plunger for a clean cut. I tried the 6mm cutter, and it performed well, though time will tell after more use. The teeth are slightly longer than MAP's, which made cleaning excess meat a bit of a hassle. Also, there’s no end cap to keep meat from falling out on the first cut, though MAP’s cap fits perfectly—unfortunately, it can’t be stored in Preston’s case.

Overall, there are pros and cons. £50 initially feels steep, but considering you get three commonly used cutter sizes, a storage case, and some thoughtful blade tweaks, it’s worth a look. As always, only time will tell if it matches MAP’s longevity.
